We travelled to Skye on a lovely day and stopped for a visit to Eilean Donan Castle. Well worth a stop and visit which takes around a hour.
After this a short trip over the bridge and we arrive on the Isle of Skye.
Our first location was the Fairy Pools.
The last part of the journey was by single track road so you should beware the conditions of the road are not good. Lots of very large potholes.
Car parking is £6 for a day and there’s new toilet facilities.
The path to the pools is good condition but sensible footwear is advised.
The pools themselves are very impressive. Allow an hour for the hike or longer depending if you stop or not.
We then drove to Portree for an overnight stop at the Cuillin Hills Hotel. Beautiful place and excellent staff and surrounding.
After a relaxing sleep day 2 was a trip north to Uig via Staffin. We stopped at various locations to take photos and marvel at the scenery.

We then returned to Inverness via Loch Carron, Achnasheen and Garve.
Thoroughly enjoyed our wee trip and can recommend it to anyone.
Just be careful on the single track roads. Beware of the potholes and give way to oncoming traffic. Also beware of vehicles travelling behind you who are not enjoying the scenery and give way to them.
